Live stats of Cornell spring game
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The annual Cornell Red-White Spring Football Game will take place on Saturday, April 25 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field following the women's lacrosse game against Harvard and will be broadcast on IBNSports.com or through CornellBigRed.com at no charge. Live scoring of the Spring Game will also be available at CornellBigRed.com.
The losing team and its coaches will have primary duties in washing cars for charity on Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the ShortStop Deli on West Seneca Street in Ithaca. It is a great opportunity to rid your car of any winter elements while meeting the Big Red football staff and members of the Big Red. This open donation event will benefit Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services (CARS).
The teams were picked on Tuesday evening as part of the second annual Cornell Spring Football Game Draft in Schoellkopf Memorial House's meeting rooms. Each team will have 26 active players, while the squads will share the offensive line.
With a dearth of returning starters due to graduation, both teams ended with two starting position players. The Red picked up rising senior linebacker
Chris Costello and senior wide receiver
Horatio Blackman, as well as starting place-kicker
Brad Greenway and senior
Ben Ganter, who is challenging for the starting quarterback spot. The White team features rising senior tailback
Randy Barbour and classmate
Bryan Walters at wide receiver.
The White team will attempt to defend its 2008 title after knocking off the Red 31-28 in a lighting-shortened shootout a year ago.
