9/22/2012 8:56:00 PM

PHILADELPHIA — Sophomore Lauren Frazier and freshman Laila Judeh have advanced to the semifinals of Flight B Singles to highlight the Big Red's performance on the second day of Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational.

Judeh has run her collegiate record to 6-0 after a pair of victories Saturday. She won in straight sets against Bowdoin's Chantalle Lavertu, but had a much more challenging match against Dartmouth's Julienne Keong. Judeh dropped the first set, but rebounded to take the second set and force a tiebreaker that she won, 10-8, to advance. Judeh started the year by winning all three of her matches in the B Flight of the Cornell Fall Invitational last weekend. She'll face Yale's Courtney Amos at 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

Frazier also won twice on Saturday, defeating Penn State's Sarah Henderson, 6-4, 7-5, and Dartmouth's Sarah Bessen, 6-1, 7-5. Now 5-1 on the season, Frazier will take on Penn's Alex Ion on Sunday morning.

In Flight A Singles, all three remaining Big Red entrants were eliminated Saturday. Senior co-captains Sarah O'Neil and Christine Ordway were ousted in the Round of 16. Junior Ryann Young defeated Akron's Angelina Jogasuria, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals before being knocked out by Yale's Annie Sullivan in a third set.

All four Big Red teams were also eliminated from doubles contention Saturday.
