Final brackets
ITHACA, N.Y. — Senior
Sarah O'Neil and sophomore
Sara Perelman won singles titles, and the freshman team of
Laila Judeh and
Dena Tanenbaum won a doubles crown to highlight the women's tennis team's play this weekend at the Cornell Winter Invitational.
Sunday's play concluded the three-day event at Reis Tennis Center, with competitors from Cornell, Army and Seton Hall. No team scores were kept.
O'Neil won the A Singles title after defeating Seton Hall's Chloe Sher, 6-2, 6-3, in a matchup of the bracket's top two seeds. Perelman also won her B Singles finals bout in straight sets, defeating Army's Elle Taylor, 6-3, 6-3. Tanenbaum also won the third-place match against Army's Jamila Paul, 1-6, 6-3, (11-9). Freshmen
Christy Kung and Judeh, and senior
Christine Ordway also own Back Draw Singles matches Sunday.
In A Doubles, Judeh and Tanenbaum topped Seton Hall's Julia Keenan and Madison Shoemaker, 8-7(0). Army's duo of Haley O'Connor and Eva Sung won the B Doubles final by injury default. Cornell's Ordway and
Kirsten Kohagen won a Sunday Double Back Draw match.
Cornell will open its dual season next Saturday against UMBC and St. John's at Reis Tennis Center.
