USTA/ITA Northeast Regional results

HANOVER, N.H. — Junior Marika Cusick advanced as far as the semifinals, and senior Dena Tanenbaum got as far as the semifinals, but both were eliminated from the main singles bracket at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals on Monday at Dartmouth's Boss Tennis Center.
 
Cusick won her first match Monday morning, topping Dartmouth's Katherine Yau in the quarterfinals, 6-0, 6-7(7), 6-4. But she was later ousted by Syracuse's Anna Shkudun, 6-1, 6-3. Tanenbaum was also in the quarterfinals on Monday, but couldn't hold off Syracuse's Valeria Salazar and eventually lost, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
 
With its strong performance at regionals complete, the Big Red is done with its fall tournament slate. Cornell will begin the dual-match portion of its schedule at Harvard's Kickoff Weekend, where it will take on the host Crimson on Jan. 23 and Drake on Jan. 24.
