A well-coached player with good all-around skills, Jaques impressed the coaching staff with his ability to score in a variety of ways as a rookie. Possessing good size from the small forward position, Jaques has the ability to shoot over a defender with excellent range. A tough competitor, Jaques will have a chance to earn additional playing time while lending tremendous leadership as a senior.

As a senior
Jaques was a revelation in 2009-10 after seeing limited time in his first three seasons. After scoring just 11 points in 13 games as a junior, Jaques exploded for at least 11 points six times, including 20 points in wins over both St. John’s and Brown. The all-tournament pick in the Legends Classic started 22 contests and averaged 8.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor, 48 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent from the free-throw line in Ivy play. He led the Ivy League in 3-point shooting overall (.472). He served as a team tri-captain for the 2009-10 campaign.

As a junior
Jaques saw action in 13 contests, averaging 0.8 points and 0.8 rebounds per game off the bench. He totaled 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in 42 minutes. Jaques registered two points and four rebounds in eight minutes vs. Yale and had five points, two assists, a rebound and a block vs. Ursinus. For the second straight year, Jaques wrote as a  blogger for the New York Times college sports web site, the Quad Blog. Jaques wrote about his NCAA tournament experience the last two seasons, as well as summer preparation for college athletes.

As a sophomore
Jaques saw time in 13 games off the bench, averaging 0.9 points and 0.5 rebounds in 2.8 minutes per game. Jaques had two points, two rebounds and two steals against Harvard to help Cornell clinch its first Ivy title in 20 years, while scoring a season-best six points to go along with three rebounds in a win over Alvernia. He scored two points in the closing minute of the Big Red’s NCAA tournament contest against Stanford.

As a freshman
Jaques played in eight games off the bench as a freshman, averaging 1.3 points and 0.5 rebounds. His career-best effort came in extended minutes against Ithaca College, notching seven points, four rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot in 18 minutes. He also nailed a 3-pointer in the final minute in the loss to Penn and was credited with an assist vs. Army.

At Harvard-Westlake School
Jaques averaged 13.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as a senior at Harvard-Westlake HS, earning first-team all-league and first-team All-CIF honors. The 6-7 forward also recorded 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals while shooting 51 percent from the floor and 36 percent from beyond the arc, hitting a league-best 58 treys. He had nine double-doubles for a team that finished 27-6. Jaques was named the most valuable player at the 2006 Battle of the Valley all-star game after recording 14 points, 14 rebounds and four assists.
