Biography

In 2012-13 (senior)
The school's career leader in field goal percentage (.617), Chemerinski shot .632 from the floor in his final season in 31 contests, including 20 starts. He had six double figure scoring efforts that included a career-high 19-point, six-rebound effort in the win over Longwood and a 17-point effort in a triumph at Binghamton. He made all seven field goals against the Bearcats, including a pair of key offensive rebounds in the final minute of the win, and made 9-of-12 vs. Longwood. For the season, Chemerinski averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds to go with 25 steals in 19.5 minutes per game. He scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor in the win at Saint Francis (Pa.) and tallied 13 points and five rebounds in the win over Presbyterian.

In 2011-12 (junior)
Chemerinski emerged as one of the Ivy League's top offensive players down low, shooting 63 percent from the floor, a mark that ranked second all-time in a season at Cornell. He surpassed his career totals entering the season in points, rebounds, assists, blocked shots and steals. Chemerinski ended the season averaging 5.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game while averaging 17.6 minutes per contest. He started 21 contests and saw action in each of the team's 28 games. Chemerinski  had four straight games scoring in double figures early in the year (Binghamton, Buffalo, Boston University and Delaware), averaging 12.8 points during that span while shooting 22-of-29 from the floor (76 percent). He had 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks at Buffalo and recorded 10 points and three steals in a return to his home state, hitting 5-of-6 field goals against Maryland.

In 2010-11 (sophomore)
Chemerinski became a key player in the second half of the season, finishing with averages of 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per contest. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in the weekend road swing through Yale and Brown. Chemerinski scored a career-high 11 points and grabbed six rebounds against the Bulldogs and had seven points and five boards against the Bears. He earned his first action of 2010-11 in a two-minute stint off the bench against Syracuse, scoring two points and grabbing a rebound. He also earned four first half minutes in the win over Stony Brook, registering his first career blocked shot, and two minutes at Columbia. Chemerinski had four rebounds at Dartmouth and five points at Harvard. He also had six points and two rebounds in an overtime win over Penn.

In 2009-10 (freshman)
Chemerinski played in 10 games off the bench as a rookie, scoring three points and grabbing eight rebounds in just 27 minutes of court time. He saw his first career playing time at Syracuse and hauled down a rebound in his only minute of action. Chemerinski scored two points and had a rebound against Penn State-Behrend and registered three boards in the win over Clarkson.

At Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School
Chemerinski was a McDonald’s High School All-America nominee as a senior at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. The conference player of the year averaged 20 points, nine rebounds, six blocked shots and four assists as a senior after notching 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists per game as a junior. An honorable mention all-state selection by the Maryland Gazette in each of his final two seasons, he was an honorable mention All-Met pick by the Washington Post in 2009 and was picked to play in the 2009 McDonald’s Roundball Classic Mid-Atlantic Premier All-Star game. The two-time first-team all-league pick served as team captain during his final season.

Personal
Eitan Chemerinski is the son of Oscar and Debora Chemerinski and has an older sister, Anat, who is a junior at Cornell. Chemerinski is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
