In 2011-12 (fifth-year senior)
Due to injury, Gatlin missed the first 26 games of the season, but played in each of the final two, including getting his first Cornell start on Senior Day. He recorded a rebound against Dartmouth.
In 2010-11 (senior)
Gatlin averaged 3.3 points while shooting 66 percent from the floor in 7.7 minutes per game. He made 4-of-7 (57 percent) shots from 3-point range. Gatlin scored eight points and grabbed two rebounds in jusut six minutes against Seton Hall and provided a huge spark in the win over Delaware, pouring in 12 points and grabbing four rebounds in 15 minutes. Against the Blue Hens, Gatlin hit all four shots from the floor, including three 3-pointers, including a rare four-point play in the second half. He added three points, two rebounds and a career-high three blocks at Lehigh. Gatlin scored eight points,had two rebounds and two assists while going 4-for-4 from the floor in the win at Penn. Gatlin closed out the season by hitting 5-of-6 shots for 10 points in the win over Yale.
In 2009-10 (junior)
Gatlin has worked as a member of the scout team, preparing the Big Red during its Ivy League championship run, while sitting out the season due to NCAA transfer regulations. He will have two years of athletic eligibility remaining beginning in the Fall of 2010.
At Centenary
In two seasons at Centenary, Gatlin saw action in 58 games with 28 starts, averaging a combined 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds. He shot 43 percent from the floor, 38 percent from 3-point range and 71 percent from the free-throw line. In 2008-09 as a sophomore, Gatlin averaged 4.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 27 games played, including 16 starts. He also registered 13 blocked shots, 11 assists and nine steals. He shot Gatlin had a career-best 16 points at Northwestern State and a career-high nine rebounds against Alcorn State. As a freshman in 2007-08. Gatlin averaged 4.4 points and 2.4 rebounds while playing in all 31 contests with 12 starts. He averaged 19.6 minutes per game, while chipping in 14 assists, 12 steals and 11 blocked shots during the year. He scored a career-high 13 points in the Gents 70-66 win over Texas Tech and pulled down eight boards against IUPUI.
At Pearland HS/Seoul American HS
Gatlin was a first team all-district performer as a senior for his district championship Pearland HS team after playing his first two seasons of high school basketball at Seoul American HS in Seoul, South Korea. He led his team to league titles in both seasons at SAHS, earning all-league honors as a sophomore. He was named conference finals most valuable player as a sophomore in helping his squad to the Far East basketball title. He also was an all-league volleyball playuer at middle blocker and competed in the high jump in track and field.
Personal
Anthony Edward Gatlin is the son of Todd and Angela Gatlin and has a younger brother. Gatlin is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
