Biography

In 2013-14 (sophomore)
Cressler had a breakout sophomore season, leading the Big Red in scoring (16.8 ppg.), ranking fourth overall in the Ivy League en route to honorable mention all-league honors. He also paced the team and ranked third in the Ancient Eight in 3-pointers made (2.4 per game) and was sixth in minutes played (32.6 mpg.). His 469 points ranked 14th in a single season at Cornell, while his 68 3-pointers sits 11th. Cressler shot 41 percent from the floor and 36 percent from 3-point range while adding 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest. The 6-4 guard from Pittsburgh, Pa. reached fouble figures in scoring 22 times with eight 20-point games, including a career-high 34-point effort in an overtime loss to Brown.  He Went for 29 points with five rebounds at Yale, hitting all 10 of his free throw attempts. Cressler also scored 27 points, including five 3-pointers, at Mid-American champion Western Michigan, and notched 25 points on 11-of-19 shooting vs. CBI finalist Siena, adding three rebounds and two assists. Cressler opened the season with a bang, scoring a career-best 23 points in the season opener at Syracuse, including 20 in the first half.

In 2012-13 (freshman)
A two-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week, Cressler closed his strong rookie campaign by ranking fourth on the team in scoring (9.3 ppg.), third in rebounding (3.7 rpg.) and first in 3-pointers made (54) and 3-point percentage (.403). Cressler saw action in all 31 contests with 12 starts and finished his rookie campaign shooting .427 from the floor in 21.1 minutes per game. He was even better in Ivy League play, averaging 11.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists while making two 3-pointers per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor.  Cressler scored in double figures 14 times overall, including five of his final six games of the year. Over than span, Cressler averaged 15.0 points and netted a career-high 22 points against both Penn and Brown. He exploded onto the scene in collegiate debut with 20 points, including 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range, in just 18 minutes in the win over Western Michigan. He had 14 points and seven rebounds at Dartmouth and 12 points and nine rebounds at Ivy champ Harvard over his final weekend of action.

At Plum HS
A second-team all-state selection as a senior at Plum HS, Cressler was a two-time first-team all-section pick.  He became the school’s career scoring leader in his final season (1,565 points) and was named the Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s East Player of the Year and the WPIAL AAAA Player of the Year. Crssler averaged 25.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in his final season, a year after averaging 25.5 points and 7.6 rebounds as a junior. A member of the Post Gazette’s Fab Five team, he was selected to play in both the Roundball Classic and AK Valley Cager Classic All-Star games, setting the single-game scoring record at the latter (38 points). Cressler earned a spot on the Pittsburgh Tribune’s Terrific 10 squad and helped lead his squad to a sectional title as a sophomore.

Personal
Nolan Abram Cressler is the son of John and Kerrie Cressler and has an older brother, Andrew, who played basketball at Pitt-Johnstown. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
