ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell Matt Bouraee scored two goals, but Dartmouth freshman forward Lucky Mkosana did him one better with a hat trick and Dartmouth pulled away in the final 12 minutes to collected a 5-2 victory over the Big Red on Saturday evening at Berman Field. Cornell dropped its ninth-straight contest to fall to 1-14-0 (0-6-0 Ivy), while the Big Green improved to 10-5-1 overall (4-1-1 Ivy).

Bouraee scored in the 17th minute to cut a 2-0 Dartmouth lead in half, then scored again in the 54th minute on a well-designed set piece to again get Cornell within a goal at 3-2. Both of Bouraee's tallies were assisted by Kevin Vieira, the first on a thru-ball and the second on a cross from the right corner off after a foul outside the box was played in by David Browning and was buried by the junior.

Cornell goalkeeper Luca Cerretani made six saves, including several of the spectacular variety, but was victimized by several long balls to Mkosana that turned into one-on-ones in the open field. The freshman scored in the sixth minute after collecting a ball on a great touch, then dribbling into the box and firing a shot past Cerretani to go up 1-0. he struck again just three minutes later when he had another great touch on a long pass, collected himself for a low shot in the right corner that trickled past an outstretched Cerretani.

The Big Red answered with a Bouraee goal in the 17th minute, but the Big Green got the score back in the 43rd minute when Adam Rice's header on a serve from Austin Bowers made it 3-1.

Bouraee got Cornell back into the game, cutting the deficit to 3-2, but the Big Red would never find the equalizer. Mkosana completed the hat trick and ended the home team's ideas of a comeback by making it 4-2 in the 79th minute on an assist by Craig Henderson, then Henderson put one away himself three minutes later to add a capper to the Dartmouth victory.

Cornell will close out the 2008 season on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. when it meets Columbia in New York City.
