ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red men's polo team lost to Virginia 23-12 on Saturday night. Cornell moves to 8-3 for the season.

Cornell struggled to score from the field the entire game and only tallied two goals to Virginia's 10 in the first three chukkers.

The Cavaliers took a 10-5 halftime lead with eight goals from the field to the Big Red's one. The trend continued in the third as Cornell notched one goal to Virginia's four. In the fourth Cornell regrouped and scored five goals from the field but time ran out before the Big Red could mount a comeback.

The Big Red will play host to Boston College on Feb. 7
