ITHACA, N.Y. -- There was a last minute change and the Yale men and women switched nights, so the Big Red suited up to play Yale on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red didn't lose anything in translation, however, knocking off the Bulldogs 29-7 to improve to 2-0 on the year.
Cornell started
Dan Grew,
Max Constant, and
Branden Van Loon, who jumped on Yale in the first chukker for 13 goals. Van Loon tallied six goals to lead the Big Red.
Connor Pardell,
Justin Schick and
David Dunstan came in for the second chukker and took the home team into the half up by a score of 21-3. Mateo Abbruzzese saw his first action in the second half with Schick and Dunstan. Cornell cruised on to the victory at 29-7. The breakdowns were; Van Loon with six goals, Pardell with five, Schick with four, Constant and Grew with three goals apiece, Dunstan tallied two and Abbruzzese tallied one. The ponies chipped in with a pair of goals.
The Big Red will attempt to remain unbeaten when it travels to Connecticut for a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday against the Huskies.
