ITHACA, N.Y. -- Junior Drew Alston has been named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after an outstanding effort in the Big Red's loss to defending Ancient Eight champion Brown. It is the fifth time a Cornell player has been honored this season with a weekly award and the third time in the last four weeks the Special Teams Player of the Week went to a Big Red student-athlete.

Alston put four of his seven punts inside Brown's 20-yard line and averaged 38.4 yards per kick. He also allowed just nine return yards of four attempts by Buddy Farnham. For the season, Alston had pinned 17 of his 43 punts inside opponents' 20-yard line and is helping the Big Red rank first in the Ivy League and 23rd nationally in net punting.

Alston and the Big Red hit the road to face Princeton on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at Princeton Stadium.
