ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's polo team will attempt to get back to its winning ways when it battles Harvard on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. at Myopia Outdoor Arena in Cambridge, Mass. The Big Red, 3-1 on the season, will be out to build on its performance against defending national champion Virginia last weekend in a 19-8 loss to the Cavaliers.
Despite the 19-8 final, the Big Red learned a great deal from its matchup with the powerful Cavaliers. With a pair of freshmen starting (
Connor Pardell and
Branden Van Loon) alongside All-American
Max Constant, Cornell picked up steam and was competitive throughout the second half. Cornell won both meetings against the Crimson during the 2008-09 campaign, taking home 24-18 and 21-13 victories on consecutive nights last October at the Oxley Equestrian Center.
Max Constant had 22 goals in the two victories a season ago. Cornell leads the all-time series 13-0, meeting for the first time in 1988-89.
Through four games, senior
Max Constant scored 24 goals, while freshmen
Branden Van Loon (18 goals) and
Connor Pardell (10 goals) are also in double figures.
