At 9:07 of the second period, senior Sarah Vaillancourt put her team on the board for the first time after grabbing her own rebound and flipping the puck past Mazzotta. Katharine Chute was credited with the assist.

The Crimson held the lead heading into the third, but Cornell would quickly tie the score at 1-1. White won the faceoff in Harvard's zone and the puck went right to Johnston. Johnston skated to the left side of the net and slid the puck past netminder Christina Kessler's left leg.
