KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The Big Red softball team picked up two more wins on Thursday evening with victories over Wagner and Manhattan at the Rebel Spring Games. Cornell has now won its last four games and moves to 15-5 overall for the season.
Cornell opened the day with a 6-2 win over Wagner. Freshman Lauren Marx earned the win pitching six innings. She allowed two runs, nine hits and a walk, while striking out nine. Sophomore Ali Tomlinson earned the save, allowing one hit in one inning.
Junior Alison Intihar was 2-for-4 at the plate with one run scored. Classmate Elise Menaker was 2-for-3 with one run and a double. Shannon Crane was 1-for-3 with an RBI. The Big Red totaled six runs on 11 hits with one error.
Sophomore Elizabeth Dalrymple was a force for the Big Red on the mound in a 2-0 win over Manhattan. She pitched seven innings and only allowed one hit. Dalrymple only allowed one base runner, and with nine strikeouts, and had no walks.
Menaker led the Big Red at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Intihar, Marissa Amiraian and Ashley Garvey were all 1-for-3. Cornell totaled five hits to score two runs.
The Big Red will play two more games on Friday afternoon taking on Fairleigh Dickinson and Hartford.
