ITHACA, N.Y. --
Branden Van Loon scored 12 goals as Cornell cruised to an easy 30-4 victory over Skidmore on Friday evening to open the 2010-11 campaign. The defending Eastern Regional champions jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never trailed in the victory.

Connor Pardell and
David Dunstan started on the road for the Big Red and got the team out to a 7-2 edge at the end of the first chukker.
Justin Schick subbed for Pardell in the second and Cornell didn'tskip a beat as they extended the lead to 17-2 by the half. Van Loon sat down for the third and Dunstan for the fourth as Cornell cruised to the 30- 4 victory. Besides Van Loon's 12 goals, Pardell posted nine, Dunstan had six and Schick scored three times.
