ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team remained unbeaten in the spring with a 23-12 victory over Harvard on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center.
Max Constant tallied eight goals as Cornell improved to 10-2.
Constant,
Connor Pardell and
Branden Van Loon started for the Big Red and staked Cornell to an early 10-2 lead at the end of one chukker. More of the same was to be had in the second as Cornell widened the margin to 19-4 going into the half. The three starters had done their job well and took the second half off.
David Dunstan,
Justin Schick and
Steven True came in to finish the game. Harvard had better luck against this trio and pulled the score down to a 13 goal-difference at 21-8 heading into the final chukker. Harvard again won the fourth, but never really got close as the final was 23-12 in favor of the Big Red. Constant tallied eight, Pardell scored six, Van Loon notched four, Dunstan and Schick each had two and the ponies kicked in one.
The Big Red return to action on Saturday, Feb. 13 when it meets Virginia at Oxley at 7:30 p.m.
