NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Cornell women's squash team capped off the team portion of the 2009-10 season by finishing seventh in the Howe Cup playoffs over the weekend in New Haven, Conn. Cornell dropped a 6-3 decision to Penn in the opening round and fell to Stanford, 5-4, in the consolation semifinals before claiming a 7-2 win over Williams on Sunday in the seventh-place match.

Shivangi Paranjpe and
Rachel Wagner each claimed a win over Penn in the opener, with Paranjpe and Wagner being joined in the loss to Stanford by
Lauren Sachvie and
Maxi Prinsen in garnering wins.
Against Williams in the seventh-place match, Cornell swept spots three through nine in the order for the 7-2 victory, with Paranjpe, Wagner, Sachvie and Prinsen being joined by Jennifer Gemmel,
Liza Stokes and Maggie Remsen in earning victories.
The women will be back in action this weekend at the Individual national championships, hosted by Trinity.
