ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell's senior trio of Lauren Benson, Allie Fedorowicz and Virginia McMunigal combined for 36 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, but it wasn't enough as the Big Red fell to Yale, 74-60, this evening at Newman Arena. Cornell wraps up its season with a 7-20 record overall and a mark of 2-12 in the Ivy League, while the Bulldogs improve to 13-15 overall and 8-6 in the conference.

Fedorowicz finished the game with a team-high 17 points, thanks mostly to 9-of-10 shooting from the free throw line, as well as five rebounds. Benson was the only other Big Red player in double-digits with 10 points to go along with four assists, while McMunigal chipped in nine points and five rebounds. Freshmen Clare Fitzpatrick and Whitney Hagan also had solid outings, as each registered seven points and four rebounds.

Yale had four players score in double-digits, with Melissa Colborne's 20 points leading the way. Megan Vasquez added 18, while Michelle Cashen and Haywood Wright chipped in 15 and 13 points, respectively.

For the second night in a row, Cornell ran into a hot-shooting team as the Bulldogs hit 48.1 percent from the floor. The Big Red connected on 36.5 percent overall and 36.8 percent from 3-point range, while holding Yale to just 20 percent from beyond the arc.

Cornell held the 36-29 edge in rebounds, but was done in by 27 turnovers which led to 22 Yale points.

Yale, which took a 13-point lead into the intermission, extended its advantage to 15 points, 40-25, early in the second half of play, but the Big Red fought back as five straight points by Fedorowicz made it a 10-point contest with 14:16 to play.

Just under four minutes later another pair of made free throws by Fedorowicz cut the Bulldog advantage to just eight points but that was as close as it would get as Yale scrapped its way to the 74-60 victory.
