ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell remained unbeaten by sweeping Sunday's games in the George Mason Invitational, knocking off Bucknell 6-1 in game one before rallying for a 2-1 victory over the host school later in the afternoon. The Big Red improved to 4-0 on the season with the two wins.

In game one, 2009 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year Elizabeth Dalrymple pitched a complete game six-hitter and struck out 11 in picking up her second win of the year. Alyson Intihar went 3-for-3, while Elise Menaker and Vanessa Leonard each had a pair of hits.

Cornell never trailed, taking a 1-0 lead in the second with a Shannon Crane RBI single. That lead grew to 2-0 in the fifth when Menaker's single to right scored Marissa Amiraian, then to 3-0 in the sixth on Erin Belle's RBI single. After the Bison got a run back in the bottom of the sixth, Cornell put it away with a three-run seventh on RBI singles by Kristen Towne, Erica Gaeta and Leonhard.

After trailing for the first five innings after the Patriots scored a run in the bottom of the first, the Big Red took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth. After consecutive singles by Erin Keene, Amiraian and Intihar to load the bases with two outs, Menaker's ground ball to second base was botched, allowing two runs to score.

Lauren Marx earned the win by allowing just an unearned run in four innings, while Ali Tomlinson came out of the bullpen to pick up the save with three innings on one-hit ball. Intihar went 2-for-4, while Amiraian added two of Cornell's eight hits.

The Big Red will head back to Fairfax, Va. again next weekend for the Mason Cherry Blossom Classic. Cornell will meet Niagara, Albany (twice), Morgan State and the host school in the three-day event beginning on Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m.
