DERBY, Conn. – The No. 6 Big Red heavyweight rowing team had the tough task of facing two top-10 teams at the 84th Carnegie Cup, held this morning on the Housatonic River in Derby, Conn. No. 8 Yale upset the field by defeating No. 5 Princeton and Cornell in one of the closest races of the season for the Big Red. Cornell ended the day with two victories and two losses that both came by less than one second.
"All of the races today were very hotly contested," said head coach
Todd Kennett. "This was really one of the tightest days we've had all season. All of the races were extremely close with several boats losing by just a foot or two."
