THE MATCHUP – Cornell (15-6) will continue Ivy League play this weekend, traveling to the Northeast. The Big Red will face Yale (12-7) at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on Friday, April 9, at 2:00 p.m., before taking on Brown (10-11) at the Varsity Tennis Courts on Saturday April 10, at 2:00 p.m.
THE SERIES VS. YALE – Cornell and Yale first met in 1907 and the Bulldogs lead the series 55-10-2.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS – The Bulldogs are having a winning season this spring, posting a 12-7 record. Yale defeated Penn, 5-2, in its last outing. The Bulldogs swept the doubles matches and the Bulldogs' three freshmen led the way for Yale in singles play, winning at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 spots.
LAST TIME VS. YALE – In its last meeting, Cornell defeated Yale, 6-1, by winning the doubles point and taking victories in all the singles matches, except for the No.4 spot.
THE SERIES VS. BROWN – The series between Cornell and Brown began in 1937. Cornell beat the Bears, 6-3, in that first meeting, but Brown leads the series 31-18.
SCOUTING THE BEARS – Brown is currently on a three-match losing-streak, sitting at 10-11 on the season. In Brown's last outing, the Bears fell to Princeton, 5-2. The Bears won the doubles point but lost all but the No. 3 spot in singles.
LAST TIME VS. BROWN – Last season, the Big Red defeated Brown, 5-2, in Ithaca, N.Y. Cornell won the doubles point and earned victories the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.
LAST TIME OUT FOR CORNELL – Last weekend, the Big Red defeated both Dartmouth (4-2) and Harvard (5-2) at the Reis Tennis Center. Against Dartmouth, Cornell lost in the doubles matches and the No. 6 singles match but were able to earn the win. In the Harvard match, the Big Red was able to claim the victory with the doubles point and four wins in the singles matches.
UP NEXT – In its final weekend of action, Cornell will travel to face Princeton on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m., before returning home for its final match vs. Penn at the Reis Tennis Center on Sunday, April 18 at noon.
