Game 1 Box Score (Princeton 4, Cornell 2)
Game 2 Box Score (Cornell 7, Princeton 6)

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell rallied for two runs in the sixth inning and then Elizabeth Dalrymple ended a Tiger rally in the sevent inning of game two to salvage a split with Princeton on Sunday afternoon at Class of 1895 field, losing game one 4-2 before taking a 7-6 win in game two. The Big Red moved to 33-12 overall (17-3 Ivy) and will host the best-of-three Ivy League championship series beginning on Saturday at Niemand*Robison Field.

In an uncharacteristically quiet days for the bats and a long day in the field with four errors leading to five unearned runs, Cornell persevered to earn the split. The game two victory guaranteed the Big Red the No. 1 seed. The team will now face the North Division champion Crimson for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Harvard swept Dartmouth on Sunday, leaving Cornell and the Crimson tied with 17-3 records and a split in the season series, so the next tiebreaker was winning percentage against the team with the next-best record. This season, that team was Penn, who finished 12-8 in conference play. Cornell won 3-of-4 games (.750), while the Crimson and the Quakers split a two-game series (.500).

Shannon Crane was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Elise Menaker drove in three, including the game-winner on a groundout in the sixth. Erin Keene, who had multiple hits in both games, was 2-for-3 and joined Marissa Amiraian in scoring a pair of runs in the nightcap. Lauren Marx picked up her 10th win of the season, while Dalrymple went the final two innings to pick up her first save of the year. She allowed the first two runners in the seventh inning to reach base before closing the door on Princeton.

The Big Red had its eight-game win streak snapped in the opener, surrender three unearned runs to the Tigers in a 4-2 loss. Ali Tomlinson drove in a pair of runs in the sixth as Cornell attempted to overcome a 4-0 deficit, but went down 1-2-3 in the seventh as Princeton earned the win. All three Big Red errors occurred in the fourth and the Tigers took full advantage to score three runs. The second of Sarah Rounsifer's doubles in the contest drove in the game-winning runs.
