BURLINGTON, Vt. --
Franck Onambele scored his second goal of the season in the first half to give Cornell the early lead, but Vermont scored twice to take a 2-1 win from the Big Red on Sunday to close out the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Nike Classic in Burlington, Vt. Cornell falls to 1-2-1 on the year with the loss while Vermont improves to 4-1 on the year.

The Big Red took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute when Onambele got a pass from

With the game tied at the break, it was the Catamounts who struck first in the second half. Connor O'Brien tipped home a shot struck by Patrick Alonis that found its way past Pflasterer as Vermont took the lead and held on the rest of the way for the victory.
Cornell returns to action on Thursday with a 7 p.m. contest against St. Joseph's at Berman Field in Ithaca.
