Men’s Tennis Advances to ECAC Indoor Championship with Victory Over Harvard

2011 ECAC Indoor Men's Tennis Championships Bracket

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's tennis defeated Harvard this afternoon, 5-2, in the Murr Center at Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. With the victory, the top-seed Big Red advances to the title match of the 2011 ECAC Indoor Tennis Championships, where it will face third seed Binghamton tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.

Cornell (8-3) won the doubles point with victories by No. 1 Jonathon Jaklisch/Evan Bernstein and No. 3 Evan McElwain/Mirza Klis.

Jaklitsch and Bernstein both picked up singles victories at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively, with No. 2 Andy Gauthier and No. 6 Zhongming Chen rounding out Cornell's winners.
