Rough roads were ahead as the UConn team fought hard and got back to 6-4 Cornell going into the half. The third found UConn still scrapping as they managed to tie it up at 8-8 heading into the fourth. The home team had its opportunities, but just could not seem to find the goal. This pattern continued onto the fourth as the Huskies finally took the lead and were ahead 11-9 with about 2:30 left in the game. Constant got the rally started by tallying a penalty three to start of a four-goal run that put the game away for the Big Red and gave them the title and a spot in the national tournament. Constant tallied six goals, Van Loon had five and Pardell had two. Constant was voted top men's player and Van Loon earned third all-tournament honors.
