The Big Red hung with Yale early in the first set before a 9-3 run put the home team up, 18-10. A kill by Marble ended the run and Cornell pulled back within four points (19-15) after an attack error from Yale's McHaney Carter. That was as close as it got, however, as the Bulldogs went on to take the 25-18 victory.
In the second set, Yale hit .279 (17-5-43) and led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 9-1 lead and then rolling to the 25-15 victory.
The Big Red fought back in the third set, battling point-for-point to an 11-11 tie before the Bulldogs registered six unanswered points to take a 17-11 lead. Cornell pulled back within four points, 18-14, and eventually cut the lead to 20-17 on a kill from
Meagan Tatum. Three unanswered points brought Yale to the edge of victory (23-17), but three kills by Przybyl, a kill from
Sierra Young and a Bulldog attack error made it a 23-22 game. Rogers ended the match with back-to-back kills.
