ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell junior
Allyson DiMagno earned Ivy League co-Player of the Week after helping the Big Red women's team to a pair of victories this past week. It is her first weekly award from the conference office.
DiMagno led the Big Red to a 2-0 week, averaging 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. She posted her League-leading fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 14 rebounds in a 74-56 win at St. Francis (N.Y.) and finished one rebound shy of her fifth double-double of the year with 19 points and nine boards in Cornell's 77-73 win over the Lady Bears.
DiMagno was just as impressive from the free throw line, hitting all 10 of her free throws against the Terriers and shooting 11-of-12 against MSU. DiMagno is Cornell's first Player of the Week since Lauren Benson shared the award with Harvard's Emily Tay on Feb. 2, 2009.
She ranks ninth nationally in rebounding (12.5 per game) and is 14th in double-doubles (four). She is the only guard ranked among the top 25 nationally in rebounding.
