ITHACA, N.Y. -- The men's and women's polo teams will welcome Texas A&M to Oxley Equestrian Center this weekend for a weekend of collegiate polo action. The Big Red men will play the Aggies on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m., with the women's teams facing off on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The men bring a 7-6 overall record and a two-game losing streak into the weekend. The Big Red will be facing the Aggies for the first time since knocking off the Aggies 19-13 a year ago at Oxley. The two teams have each won national titles in recent history, with Texas A&M knocking off the Big Red in the 2007-08 campaign in the national finals. The men claimed their last championship in 2005, but have been to the title game twice since.
The women are 8-5 overall this season and have been off since a 21-5 defeat at the hands of No. 1 Virginia. The two teams last met a year ago, with Cornell capturing a 19-10 decision en route to a national title. The two squads met again in the national semifinals, with Cornell earning a 22-11 victory.
