ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell softball team earned a doubleheader split against Columbia on Senior Day thanks to a pair of underclassmen, topping the Lions 5-3 in game two after falling in game one, 7-3. The Big Red improved to 19-16 (10-2 Ivy), while the Lions fell to 10-25 (3-9 Ivy).
Alyson Onyon hurled a complete game to pick up her ninth victory of the season. She struck out six and allowed just two earned runs. For the second time in two days, the Big Red overcame a 3-1 deficit, this time with four runs in the fourth to go ahead. Kristin Towne lead the way with a 2-for-3 day with two RBI.

The Lions jumped out in game one to a 3-0 lead on a three-run home run by Tristin Moone in the first before many in the crowd even took their seat. The Big Red tied the contest at 3-3, but Columbia scored in each of the final three innings to earn its only win of the four-game set. Brooke Darling picked up the win in the circle, scattering seven hits and four walks in the complete game victory. Both
