ITHACA, N.Y. -- Jillian Saulnier and Taylor Woods combined for 17 points, and Emily Fulton notched five goals for the women's hockey team in a 13-0 victory over Brock University in an exhibition Friday night at Lynah Rink.

The fourth-ranked Big Red scored six goals in an eight-minute span to break the game open in the first period. Fulton had three of those for one of two hat tricks on the night. Woods also had three goals, with two of her tallies coming in the opening period.

Freshman Caroline DeBruin made the score 7-0 in the second period on an extra-attacker goal with the Big Red goalie pulled on a delayed penalty at the 5:02 mark. Woods then scored 38 seconds later on the ensuing power play to cap off her hat trick. Woods also had five assists and a plus-7 rating on the night.

Saulnier, who also was a plus-7 on the evening, assisted on seven of Cornell's first nine goals before scoring her first of two goals on the night during a power play with less than two minutes remaining in the second period, which pushed the score to 10-0. Fulton scored her fifth goal, Saulnier her second, and freshman Hanna Bunton notched her first goal early in the third period to close out the scoring. Bunton had four assists to go with her goal.

Each team used all three of their goaltenders for one period apiece. The Big Red was 3-for-6 on the power play, outshooting the Badgers, 62-5.

Cornell will be back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday alongside the Big Red men's team for the annual Red/White Game before starting the regular season with a two-game home series Oct. 19-20 against visiting Northeastern.
