ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's polo team will have two chances to pick up its first win of the 2013-14 season when it plays host to Connecticut and visits Skidmore this weekend. The Big Red will meet the Huskies on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center, then heads to Saratoga Springs the following day for a 1 p.m. matchup.
After dropping close contests to open the season at defending national champion Virginia (12-8) and the Maryland Polo Club (21-18), the Big Red is hungry for its first triumph. The lineup of
Nicholas Stieg,
Ignacio Masias Uranga and
Nik Feldman has played better each of the first two weeks and will look to take the next step this weekend.
The Big Red men's polo team has reached the national championship game six times since 2004 under Eldredge, who has amassed an impressive 396-168-8 record (.699) in his 28 years on the sidelines with the men. Cornell has won 19 USPA Eastern Regional titles and has advanced to the national championship game 35 times with 11 national titles.
