Second-seeded Colorado State ran off four straight goals to end the first chukker up 6-2 and never looked back. The team of Nick Stieg,
Nik Feldman and
Branden Van Loon got a goal back to make it 6-3 after one. The second chukker was tight as Cornell closed the gap to 6-5, but the Rams edged out to a 9-5 halftime lead. Though Cornell controlled a good part of the third they could not get the finish on goal and the two teams tied for the chukker with CSU ahead 12-8. After trading goals and then pulling to within three at 13-10 in the fourth, the wheels came off late. The Rams ran off three quick goals to extend its lead out to 16-10 before cruising to the win.
