SEATTLE – The Big Red heavyweight and women's first and second varsity eight boats travelled to Seattle, Wash., to take part in the 27th annual Windermere Cup, and finished second overall, sweeping Ivy foe Dartmouth in the process. The Windermere Cup is the premiere spring rowing event on the Montlake Cut that signifies Opening Day for boaters in Seattle. Additionally, several other heavyweight and women's crews competed against the Big Green on the Cayuga Lake Intet in Ithaca.

In Seattle, national powerhouse Washington swept all four races, with the Big Red placing second in each. With its victory over Dartmouth in the varsity eight, the women's squad also took home the Parent's Cup for the third consecutive season.

Back in Ithaca, the women beat Dartmouth in the varsity four, the varsity four B and the third varsity eight. Syracuse also participated and won the only two events it entered - the varsity four B and the third varsity eight.

The heavyweight four, the four B and the third varsity eight also swept the Big Green on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. Full race results are not available at this time.
