Dani Bilodeau '01 Named Associate Head Coach For Women's Ice Hockey

ITHACA, N.Y. -- After helping establish Cornell women's ice hockey as one of the elite programs in the country, Danielle Bilodeau '01 has been promoted to Associate Head Coach it was announced today by head coach Doug Derraugh '91.

"I'm really happy for Coach Dani on her promotion," said Derraugh. "She's worked long and hard for this opportunity and it's well deserved. Dani is a great coach and a great person and she has done a tremendous job in building our program. I'm really glad to have her with me here at Cornell."

Since joining the Big Red program in 2006, Bilodeau has helped Cornell post a 157-82-20 mark in her eight seasons. Cornell advanced to the national title game in her fourth season, starting a run of three consecutive NCAA Frozen Four appearances (2010, 2011 and 2012). The Big Red has won four Ivy League titles, four ECAC Hockey regular season crowns and three ECAC Hockey tournament championships in her nine years, including the program's first four NCAA tournament bids coming during her time on East Hill.

Bilodeau has helped develop five first-team All-Americans and 12 All-Americans total, three ECAC Hockey and four Ivy League Players of the Year and seven Patty Kazmaier top 10 finalists. Her recruiting efforts have helped Cornell net five of the last six Ivy League Rookies of the Year and three ECAC Hockey Rookie of Year picks during that span.

One of the premier coaches in the nation, Bilodeau was recently selected to receive the Women's Ice Hockey Assistant Coach Award, given by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
