ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell polo teams will play their final tuneups before the Northeast Regionals next weekend at Connecticut when the Big Red men play Country Farms on Friday, March 14 and the women meet the Maryland Polo Club on Saturday, March 15. Both matches will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center.
The men are 10-5 on the year after last weekend's 19-9 win over the Maryland Polo Club. The Big Red is now 10-3 in its last 13 contests, with all three of its losses coming to Virginia. Eldredge sports a 406-171-8 overall record (.701) with the men. Cornell will be preparing to capture its 20th Northeast Regional title and 12th in the last 14 years.
At 14-3 on the season, the Cornell women are out to capture the 21st Northeast title in program history and the sixth straight. The Big Red has advanced to the national title game each of the last three seasons, including winning the 2011 USPA collegiate title. David Eldredge's team sports a perfect 12-0 mark in Ithaca. He picked up his 450th win with the women's program earlier this spring and now sports a 453-124-17 (.777) record.
