ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's polo takes on Skidmore College this Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y. The Big Red go into the chukker fresh off a 19-7 victory over the University of Connecticut at last weekend's season opener.
Ignancio Masias represents Cornell's only returning starter with
Ryan Saul and
Dan Shaw filling the other two starting spots. Masias topped all scorers at UConn with 11 points followed by Saul tallying four and Shaw notching two. There were two points awarded on a penalty goal.
The trio has a lot of motivation to carry the momentum into the Skidmore chukker. Cornell has beaten the Thoroughbreds 44 straight times since last losing to them 10-22 in the 1990-1991 season. The rivals played four times last year. Cornell won all four with Skidmore forfeiting the last chukker at the USPA NE Intercollegiate Regionals due to injury.
