ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's and women's polo teams will welcome some of the top collegiate teams in the nation when they host the William S. Field Invitational beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Oxley Equestrian Center. The women's final will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., while the men's championship is set for noon.
The women's tournament will include four teams – Cornell, Skidmore, Texas A&M, and the University of Virginia. The Big Red opens the competition on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. when it meets Skidmore. The next match will take place at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday when Cornell battles A&M. UVa enters the round robin on Friday, taking on A&M at 5:15 p.m. The loser of Game #1 will battle the loser of Game #6 on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. before Sunday's final scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
The men's field features six teams - Colorado State, Cornell, Skidmore, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M, and the University of Virginia. CSU opens the tournament against Skidmore at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornell takes on the Cavaliers later that night at 8:30 p.m. On Thursday, SMU and Skidmore will meet at 5:45 p.m. while A&M and Cornell battle it out at 7:45 p.m. Friday will feature a 7:15 p.m. A&M – UVa matchup. SMU and CSU will battle it out at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday before Sunday's 12:00 p.m. final.
