HANOVER, N.H. — The women's squash team defended its No. 6 national ranking Sunday with a bounce-back 8-1 victory over No. 7 Dartmouth at John W. Berry Sports Center.
Cornell (8-3, 3-2 Ivy League) defeated Dartmouth (5-5, 1-4) for an eight consecutive time in the all-time series, sweeping the first two rotations to take an insurmountable lead.
Freshman
Charlotte Knaggs won in three sets at No. 9 to get the Big Red on the board, and sophomore
Rachel Scherman also won in three at No. 3. Freshman
Emma Uible won in four at the No. 6 position to close out the first rotation.
Senior
Lindsay Seginson swept her match at No. 5, freshman Michele Garceau never trailed in a four-set win at No. 2, and junior co-captain
Reut Odinak stormed back from two sets down at No. 8 to win in five to leave Cornell up 6-0 entering the final rotation.
The Big Red closes out the regular season next weekend with a chance to move up the national rankings heading into the Howe Cup with matches against No. 2 Penn and No. 5 Princeton before wrapping up against No. 25 William Smith.
