CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The women's squash team defeated Columbia, 8-1, in the consolation semifinals of the College Squash Association's Howe Cup national championships on Saturday at Murr Center. With the victory, the sixth-ranked Big Red (9-6) will meet up with fifth-ranked Yale in the fifth-place match at 4 p.m. Sunday.
This marks the seventh consecutive season the Big Red has qualified for the Howe Cup by being ranked in the CSA's top eight at the conclusion of the regular season. With the victory, Cornell has guaranteed itself at least a sixth-place finish in the national rankings for the fourth consecutive season.

Emma Uible swept her match at No. 6 in three sets. Classmate
Charlotte Knaggs never trailed in a four-set victory at No. 9, and sophomore
Rachel Scherman completed the Big Red's sweep of the first rotation by rallying to win at No. 3 in five sets.
Cornell clinched the match with two more points in the next rotation, provided by three-set sweeps from senior
Lindsay Seginson at No. 5 and freshman Michele Garceau at No. 2.
