WEST POINT, N.Y. — The women's tennis team rolled to its second victory of the season with a dominant 7-0 defeat of Army on Saturday morning at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
 
Cornell (2-5), which is ranked 72nd in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, swept all six singles matches and all three doubles matches against Army (5-7). The Big Red is now 12-1 all-time against the Black Knights in the series, including victories in each of the last three seasons.
 
After winning the doubles point, Cornell got rolling in singles play with junior captain Dena Tanenbaum's love-love win at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Kristin Quill then dropped just one game in her victory at No. 6, then junior Jane Stewart clinched the match for the Big Red with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5.
 
Cornell wraps up the weekend with its first-ever trip to College Park, Md. for a clash of nationally-ranked teams. Maryland is tabbed 67th by the ITA this week, sporting a 3-4 record heading into its Saturday home opener against No. 46 Harvard.
