PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Cornell gymnastics team finished fourth at the 2015 Ivy Classic meet on Sunday afternoon at The Palestra. The Big Red posted its second highest team score of the year and had three top five individual finishers.
Cornell's 191.175 score was its second highest total of the season thanks in large part to a strong 48.175 on bars. The Big Red's team total was a full point higher than in 2014 at the championship meet.
Freshman
Courtney Spitzer placed third on both bars (9.800) and beam (9.675), joining classmate
Joy Gage on the podium on beam (third, 9.675).
Alicia Bair was the team's top finisher on vault with a sixth place finish (9.675), while both
Alexandria Bourgeois and
Sara Schupp tied for ninth with a 9.650.
Other top 10 individual finishers included
Kaylie Cronin on beam (10th, 9.600) and
Elana Molotsky on floor (eighth, 9.725).
