ITHACA, N.Y. – On Senior Day at Teagle Gymnasium, the Cornell gymnastics team put it all together. The Big Red scored its second-best team total of the season on its way to defeating Temple 192.125-188.875 on Saturday afternoon.
The Big Red won all four team events and claimed three victories. Cornell's better than three point victory came largely on a point and a half swing on bars and a .875 difference on beam. Cornell went over 48.0 on three of four events.
Joy Gage (9.775) led the Big Red on floor with
Alexandria Bourgeois and Julohn Teizeira scoring dual 9.750's to place second.
Alicia Bair was the top finisher on vault with a 9.750 to lead four Big Red gymnasts in the top six. Four Cornell gymnasts also finished in the top six on bars with
Elana Molotsky pacing the group with a 9.775. The Big Red had five gymnasts place in the top seven on beam, with
Courtney Spitzer ranking second with a 9.750.
