ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior
Danielle Letourneau was named a College Squash Association First-Team All-American for the fourth time in her career, making her just the second Big Red student-athletie to achieve that feat in program history.
A fixture at the No. 1 position for the Big Red over the last four years, Letourneau posted a 12-4 record and was ranked third in the nation heading into the College Squash Association's Individual Championships. She advanced as far as the quarterfinals for the third consecutive year. Nine of her 12 victories came in three sets, including four of her five wins in Ivy League play. She finished the season tabbed fifth in the CSA's final rankings.
Letourneau is the Big Red's first four-time All-American since Olga Puidgemont Sola garnered the same honors for four consecutive seasons from 1999-2002. Just four members of the Big Red have achieved All-American status since the program joined the circuit for the 1997-98 – the others are Puidgemont Sola, Jaime Laird (2011-13) and
Jessenia Pacheco (2013-14).
Letourneau wrapped her career on East Hill with a cumulative record of 42-23, with all but two of those matches coming from the No. 1 position. Cornell was 10-7 in team matches and finished sixth in the CSA's final national rankings for a fourth consecutive season.
