Women's Hockey Announces Six Additions for 2015-16 Season

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Big Red women's hockey team has announced its incoming six-member Class of 2019. Cornell is coming off a season in which it posted 19 wins and advanced to the ECAC Hockey Championship final for a sixth consecutive season.
 
"We are very excited about the Class of 2019. We feel we have strengthened our team immensely at each position with this class," said Doug Derraugh, who is entering his 11th season as head coach of the Big Red. "It is a group that will add speed, talent, and energy. This class will have an immediate impact on our program. We can't wait to get the season started."

Marlene Boissonnault — Goaltender — Dundee, New Brunswick (Rothesay Netherwood School / Canada U18)
Boissonnault was the team MVP during her final season playing for Rothesay Netherwood in New Brunswick. For Team Canada, she was a part of the silver medal team at the 2015 IIHF U-18 Women's World Championships and was a member of Team New Brunswick at the 2015 Canada Games, while also serving as the lantern bearer. She also received top goaltender honors at the U-18 Canadian National Championship while playing for the Atlantic team, and she was named to the all-tournament team at the 2014 Female World Sport School Challenge.
 
Diana Buckley — Forward — Woodbridge, Va. (Washington Pride)
Buckley was a league all-star during her only year playing for the Washington Pride in the Junior Women's Hockey League. Before joining the Pride, she was a team captain for the Reston Raiders U-19 Tier 1 team for two seasons.
 
Pippy Gerace — Forward — Jamestown, N.Y. (Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins)
Gerace was a participant in the USA Hockey U-18 player development camp from 2011 to 2014 and was a part of the USA U-18 Hockey August Festival in 2014. She went north to Canada to play her junior hockey for the Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins of the Provincial Women's Hockey League. She was also a member of the National Honor Society in high school.
 
Micah Hart — Defense — Saanichton, British Columbia (Okanagan Hockey Academy / Canada U18)
Hart played four seasons for the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Penticton, British Columbia in the Junior Women's Hockey League and captained the squad during her final two years. On the national stage, she spent two years on the Canadian U-18 team, where she captained the 2014-15 squad to a silver medal at the IIHF U-18 Women's World Hockey Championship. She was the flag bearer for team British Columbia at the 2015 Canada Games.
 
Christian Higham — Forward — Winnipeg, Manitoba (St. Mary's Academy / Canada U18)
Higham played three seasons for St. Mary's Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she was named the Athlete of the Year in 2015 and won the MLA Peacekeeper Award. For her country, she was a member of the Team Canada squad that won silver at the 2015 IIHF U-18 Women's World Hockey Championships. She also represented Team Manitoba at the 2015 Canada Games.
 
Lenka Serdar — Forward — Lexington, Mass. (North American Hockey Academy)
Serdar was the alternate captain for the North American Hockey Academy in Stowe, Vermont during her final season. She was a two-time league all-star with the academy and was a part of the team that won the Junior Women's Hockey League in 2014. She was a USA U-18 player development camp all-star in 2013 and 2014 and was an attendee at the USA U-18 August Festival.
