(PDF) BUFFALO, N.Y. --- Despite holding the advantage in shots, the Cornell men's soccer team was upended by a pair of bookend goals, 2-0, at Buffalo on Sunday evening.
The Bulls' first goal came early, when Braden Scales tucked away a pass from Scott Doney in the 15
th minute. Buffalo (4-2-2) then sealed the deal in the 79
th minute, when Doney again set up a goal, this time from Russel Cicerone.
The Big Red (1-7-1) outshot the Bulls 5-2 in the first half. Junior
Duff Bedrosian registered Cornell's first try of the game, before classmate
Vincent Brunetti came off the bench and sent a shot high. Freshman
Ryan Watters had a pair of looks before the close of the frame.
At the final whistle, the Big Red had given up just four shots from the Bulls, the fewest Cornell has allowed all season.
The Big Red begins Ivy League play next weekend when the team travels to Philadelphia, Pa. for a Saturday night matchup at Penn. The Quakers are the only remaining Ancient Eight team yet to record a win this season.
