PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The women's soccer team conceded a goal in the 85th minute and suffered a 1-0 loss on Saturday against Brown at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

Amanda Lane scored the game's only goal on the Bears' seventh corner kick of the second half. With the wind howling across the field, Abby Carchio served a ball toward the top of the 6-yard box at the far post that lingered just along enough for Lane to tap it into the net.

Sophomore Meghan Kennedy made five saves for Cornell (4-8-2, 1-3-1 Ivy League), which was not credited with a shot on goal. Sophomore defender Grace Keller came closest with a shot that kissed off the crossbar early in the second half, and sophomore midfielder Jessica Ritchie had another opportunity that sailed just high immediately after Brown's goal.

Cornell returns to action at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 when it hosts Princeton at Berman Field.
