The men's tennis team swept a pair of Ivy League matches on the road this weekend, cruising past Brown on Saturday, 4-1, and outlasting Yale on Sunday, 5-2.
 
Against the Bulldogs in New Haven, Conn., Cornell (10-10, 3-2 Ivy League) — ranked 54th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association — was able to emerge victorious after five of the day's six singles matches went to a third set. The Big Red had earlier locked up the doubles point and freshman David Volfson was the lone straight-set winner in singles from the No. 1 position, where he defeated Ziqi Wang. Making his first dual singles appearances of the season this weekend, junior Dylan Brown won in three sets at the No. 6 position. Cornell has now won six of its last eight meetings with Yale.
 
On Saturday in Providence, R.I., the Big Red handed Brown (8-15, 0-3) its fifth consecutive loss. Once again starting off by winning the doubles point, Cornell got straight-set singles victories from Volfson (No. 1) and senior Stefan Vinti. Playing up to the No. 3 position lately, Vinti is now 4-0 in Ivy singles matches and has a six-match singles winning streak. Junior Bernardo Casares Rosa clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 4. It was Cornell's sixth straight win over Brown.
 
Cornell wraps up the regular season next weekend, starting with Senior Day at 2 p.m. Friday against Penn at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red will then travel to Princeton for a match at 1 p.m. Sunday
