Polo Teams Close Semester With Weekend Sweep of Yale

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell polo teams closed their semesters with a home sweep of regional rival Yale this past weekend at Oxley Equestrian Center. The men knocked off the Bulldogs 30-4 on Friday night before the women claimed a 17-3 decision on Saturday.

On Friday, Morgan Palacios, Dan Shaw and Ryan Saul took to the starting lineup and dominated from the outset. Cornell started strong by shutting out the Elis 9-0 in the first chukker. In fact, the Big Red continued its unanswered run in the second by making it 17-0 before Yale would score. Cornell cruised to a 30-4 victory, ending the Fall semester with a 7-2 record going undefeated in the Northeast Region.

The women came into Saturday's game on a high as well after winning the William S. Field Invitational. They jumped to a 7-0 first chukker lead to take control of the game. Anna Ullmann, Gillian Cowley, Hannah Noyes, Shariah Harris, Jenny Nelson and Emily Green each played two chukkers and helped the Big Red to the 17-3 victory over the Bulldogs. The win brought the team's record to 9-2 and gave David Eldredge his 973rd win overall.
