ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's lightweight rowing team heads into this weekend's IRA Regatta seeking its third national championship since 2014. The top-ranked Big Red will open racing tomorrow, Friday, June 2 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. The event continues through Sunday, June 4. Coming off an undefeated season in head-to-head competition, the Cornell lightweight varsity eight was recently named the EARC Lightweight Crew of the Year for the third time since 2014 after winning the EARC Sprints to earn the 12th Wright Trophy in program history. The Big Red defeated second-place Harvard by just under one second to give Cornell its 11th Ivy League championship as well.
